Exhibition of Anastasia Podervyanska “Sewing”.

As part of the exhibition project, the works of the textile artist, with whom she has been working since 2015, will be presented. The artist's works trace the traditions of Baroque and folk art, appeals to world art and elements of mass culture.

In particular, at the exhibition “Sewing” in four halls of NAMU, visitors will be able to see three series of works by Anastasia Podervyanskaya and embroidered coats:
The series “Still Life” is a dialogue with European artists. Citing plots and individual elements from the canvases of famous European artists, Anastasia Podervyanska invites the audience to “play” and a new reading of already familiar works.

The series “Earthly and Heavenly Phenomena” is based on legends and legends from the work of ethnographer and literary critic Georgy Bulashev “The Ukrainian People in Their Legends, Religious Views and Beliefs” (1909). Analyzing the plots, the artist finds their connection with modernity and traces the continuity of Ukrainian tradition, the flow of time. The works presented at the exhibition were created after the beginning of a full-scale invasion.

The focus of the series of works “Inner world” is the study of anatomy and symbolism of body parts, which was formed in European culture.
At the same time, embroidered coats of Anastasia Podervyanskaya are a way to bring art from the exhibition space into everyday life, to turn hand-embroidered clothes into an art object.

Musical accompaniment of the exhibition — Konstantin Mishukov (mix).
