UBIENNALE: Awakening
The second Ukrainian Biennale of Digital and Media Art will be presented in Kyiv, in the Museum and Exhibition Center of the Museum of the History of Kyiv.
In an age of war, when the world is at a crossroads, UBIENNALE: AWAKENING opens a space for reflection on the awakening of the consciousness of the nation. Contemporary digital art becomes a silent witness and interpreter of the events of war, a powerful tool for expressing and expressing the images and opinions of artists regarding contemporary challenges.
The exhibition UBIENNALE: AWAKENING is designed to deepen the perception of the audience, expressing important and painful aspects of life in the relevant language of our time - the language of modern digital art. The event will impress with innovative installations, video art, VR and AR exhibits that inspire and make you think. The exhibits of the exhibition are distinguished not only by high-tech solutions, but also by skillful interaction of traditional and innovative art forms.
More than 30 prominent Ukrainian and international artists will present their works on the theme “Awakening”. Among them are more than 15 exhibits in VR helmets, providing an opportunity both for immersion in the work of Ukrainian artists and independent exploration of virtual worlds. Among the Ukrainian exhibits are the works of Alevtina Kakhidze, Oleg Kharch, Veronika Cherednichenko, Alexander Isayenko, Piotr Armyanovskiy, Evgeny Vashchenko, Vitaly Shupliak, and others.
“The works presented this year not only announce the pain and problems of the present, but also emphasize inner awakening — spiritual strength and faith in a better future. “UBIENNALE: AWAKENING” aims to be a space to build optimism and hope in times of great distress. Being in the unique environment of “AWAKENINGS”, among works that emphasize the unity and importance of joint awakening, you will feel the spirit of community, which is an important aspect of national self-consciousness,” says Valery Korshunov, curator of the Ukrainian Biennale of Digital and Media Art.
The UBIENNALE: AWAKENING event program will be accompanied by audiovisual performances and a professional discussion panel with the participation of artists and curators from Ukraine, Spain, Germany, France, Czech Republic, Italy and Poland. The first of which will take place on Saturday, November 25 at 16:00.
