Oleksandr Sukholit is an outstanding representative of Ukrainian art of the late XX — early XXI centuries. Perhaps the artist is less well known in Lviv, and his influence on the creative environment of Kiev today is difficult to overestimate.
The artist is a representative of the “New Wave” and founder of the “ABC” group, but professes the aesthetics of modernism, with its scale of universal themes and monumental generalization of forms. According to the apt words of Olga Balashova, “Sukholit is a modernist born in the postmodern era”. The author works in sculpture, graphics and painting, and his artistic works include about 500 plastic works and more than 4000 drawings.

Exhibition of works “Alexander Sukholit. Sculpture. Graphics. Figure. Painting” represents the improvements of recent years.
It presents many female images, through which he reveals his interpretation of the interaction of the sacred and the profane. The artist invites the viewer to reflect on universal themes, the essence of which has not changed since the creation of the world.
