Photo exhibition by Brett Lloyd “Ukraine today”
On June 6, the Taras Shevchenko National Museum will open a photo exhibition by Brett Lloyd “Ukraine Today”. This large-scale project was implemented by the British photographer together with the team of Ukrainian Vogue for the spring issue. Lloyd has visited Ukraine twice in order to capture its complex present and show it to the world. For the first time, these photos were presented to the international public in Paris in March this year as part of the Vogue Ukraine Showcase, which was supported by First Lady of Ukraine Olena Zelenska and Editor-in-Chief of American Vogue Anna Wintour. Now Lloyd's photo essay can be seen in Kiev.
During these trips, Lloyd visited frontline areas where he met military, medics, and ordinary people who hold out hope of returning to normal existence. He also filmed scenes of the paradoxical life of the capital: the heroes of his photo were athletes, actors and creative youth.
“In the midst of all the disaster of war, I met so many kind and talented people,” says Brett Lloyd. “I hope this story conveys a sense of hope and resilience.”
The exhibition “Ukraine Today” will be open from June 6 to 30 inclusive.
Entrance is by ticket to the museum.
