The collection of the ARVM Museum-Workshop contains about 1000 unique photographic films — negatives and slides made by Ada Rybachuk and Volodymyr Melnichenko themselves, as well as their friends over decades of creative life. These films are invaluable visual evidence of their artistic activities, travels, exhibitions, daily life and shared history.

Today, these materials are in a vulnerable state, and over time there is a risk of loss of details or complete destruction of images. That is why the archive needs urgent professional digitization.

This project is the first phase of a major initiative on digital preservation of the archive. At this stage, we aim to digitize the first 100 films, process and systematize them for further preservation, research and public presentation.

Digitization will allow:

  • to preserve the visual heritage of artists for generations to come;
  • make the archive accessible to researchers, artists and the general public;
  • use archival materials to create exhibitions, publications, educational and digital products.

We strive to preserve every frame — as part of the great history of Ukrainian monumental art and the depth of ARVM's creative tandem.
