Musical and Memorial Museum of Solomiya Krushelnytska is a museum in the city of Lviv, dedicated to the life and work of the outstanding Ukrainian opera singer and teacher Solomia Krushelnytska. The Solomiya Krushelnytska Music Memorial Museum in Lviv was founded in 1988 and was inaugurated on October 1, 1989. The museum is located in the former home of the singer, which she acquired in 1903.
The music and memorial museum of Solomiya Krushelnytska is located in the house that the singer bought for her family in 1903. It was built according to the project of the city architect Jakub Kroch in 1884. The managers of the house were Karlo Bandrivsky (husband of sister Solomia Krushelnytska Osipa), after his death (1931) - Vladimir (brother of the singer), since 1938 - Julian Drozdovsky (husband of Maria Krushelnytska). In 1939, the house was nationalized, leaving Solomiya Krushelnytska a four-room apartment on the second floor. Here Solomiya lived with her sister Anna, here she conducted vocal lessons. In this house on November 16, 1952, the heart of the famous Ukrainian singer stopped beating.
In seven exhibition halls, in recreated interiors of the beginning of the 20th century, original photographs, posters, concert programs, portraits, fragments of stage costumes, sheet music, personal belongings of the singer are displayed. A tour of the museum is a kind of journey into the past, during which you will visit the artistic world of Solomiya Krushelnytska, with her you will walk her life path, rejoicing in her successes on the stages of the most prestigious theaters in the world, and get to know her friends and family better. And finally, you will hear the unique voice of the great singer.
The museum's funds, which include more than 15 thousand exhibits, contain not only things belonging to S. Krushelnytsky, but also many interesting materials related to the names of other famous Ukrainian singers, composers, musicians: Modest Mentsinsky, Stanislav Lyudkevich, Alexander Myshuga, Kvitky Tsisik [1] and others. The Museum of Solomiya Krushelnytska is a well-known center of the city's musical life, scientific and creative work. Often in the walls of this house it is crowded, music and singing are heard, concerts, evenings, meetings, conferences take place. And, most importantly, the museum always has a special atmosphere, which gives the feeling of the presence of the Great Straw.
